About the job :

Join Ekkiden and work on a high-impact Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) program for a leading international energy group. You will be part of a mature cloud ecosystem where reliability, security and automation are mission-critical. This role is fully hands-on and production-focused - not a pure architecture position.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments in production

- Design, deploy and manage host pools, session hosts, images, application groups and workspaces

- Automate AVD deployments using Terraform (ARM / Bicep acceptable)

- Troubleshoot performance, stability and connectivity issues

- Implement platform improvements following enterprise IT processes

- Ensure security, governance and operational compliance

- Work with Cloud, Network, Security, Workplace and Helpdesk teams

- Maintain technical documentation (diagrams, deployment guides, runbooks)

- Manage images, patching and application delivery (Intune, etc.)

- Participate in maintenance windows and on-call support
What we are looking for:

Must-have

- Proven hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

- Strong Azure infrastructure knowledge (compute, networking, storage, identity)

- Solid Windows client & server administration

- Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD and GPOs

- Experience in enterprise or large-scale environments

- Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving skills

- Fluent English

Nice-to-have

- Terraform for infrastructure automation

- Experience standardizing AVD using Infrastructure as Code

- Microsoft Intune and modern workplace tools

- Microsoft DevBox

- Azure certifications ( AZ-140, AZ-104 )

Contractor profile

- Senior, delivery-driven engineer

- Able to work independently

- Used to structured enterprise environments

- Strong communication & collaboration skills

- Available for hybrid work in Madrid

Important

- This is NOT a generic VDI role AVD experience is mandatory

- Terraform + AVD profiles are strongly preferred

- Hands-on production experience required
